Application for Use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems
(UAS Flight Application)
California State University, Northridge (CSUN) requires all UAS operators to obtain written permission from the campus UAS Committee prior to any flight with a privately owned UAS, or any UAS owned by the University or its auxiliaries. This permission must be granted prior to any flight on University property, or at any University sanctioned events off-campus.
For use off CSUN property, written permission to operate the UAS must be obtained from the property owner and submitted with this application. If you plan to fly at multiple sites, please complete a separate application for each location.
*NOTE: This application requires that the following information and documents be ready before the online form can be submitted (documents must be uploaded at the end of the form):
- CSUN UAS Operator ID (UAO) #'s for all personnel (Pilot, Observers, Ground Crew, etc).
- No Operator ID #? Register operators here.

- CSUN UAS Aircraft ID (UAR) #'s for all Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
- No Aircraft ID #? Register equipment here.

- Written permission from property owner (if operating off CSUN property)
- Annotated Map of Flight Zone, including Launch & Landing Zone.
- Completed Signature Page (requires signature from head of department/college)
