This month the Network wants to know what intervention/action step(s) are working for you in this quality improvement project to reduce long term dialysis catheters. Interventions/action step(s) may include modifying protocols, processes and procedures as needed to obtain a change.

The number of patients using a catheter as their vascular access (for 90 of more days) as of the patient's last hemodialysis treatment of the month.

Total of number of hemodialysis patients receiving treatment at the dialysis facility as of the last hemodialysis treatment of the month (total facility hemodialysis patient census)

Quality improvement is about the meaningful impact a project has on the patients we serve. Please share with us what intervention/action step(s) you have adopted or combined with your DaVita practice that has made a difference in reducing long term dialysis catheters.
