Thank you for your interest in possibly being featured in Expressions in Recovery, a recovery-oriented newsletter created by and for those in recovery in collaboration with the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services.
Please fill out the form below to submit your work for possible inclusion in our newsletter. By submitting this form, you are giving us permission to use and feature your work free of charge in our print and online versions.
Should we choose to feature your work in Expressions in Recovery, we will send notice by email regarding the acceptance of your submission.
Rules of Submission
Expressions in Recovery accepts stories, commentary, fiction and poetry that are fitting with the mission of the newsletter. We strongly encourage anyone interested in submitting work to read the newsletter before submitting to understand the length and tone. All past volumes can be found at
Please submit only one piece of work per form. All submitted content must not exceed 300 words. Work that surpasses the stated word limit will not be considered. Art, poetry, prose, true or fictional stories are welcome. The purpose of this newsletter is to provide hope, faith and information. In keeping with the spirit of this endeavor all contributions must be free from profanity and vulgarity.
While we prefer online submissions through this form, we continue to accept hard-copy submissions as well. Please send via email to DBHIDScommunications@phila.gov.
