MMA has designed a programme consisting of a series of guides for the sole purpose of demystifying the UK nursing registration process. Our guides will be sent to you as you progress through the process. Outlined below are a brief overview of the programme. Our guides contains detailed descriptions of every stage of your journey to the UK.

All applicants must supply evidence that they have the necessary knowledge of English.There are a number of pieces of evidence that we will accept:

You provide the NMC with an IELTS or OET Test report.
You must achieve the required score (7.0 / Level B) in each of the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

You proof to the NMC that you have a recent pre-registration nursing or midwifery qualification which was taught and examined in English. You will also have to provide a reference to confirm that you worked in a clinical setting where you speak English at least 75% of the time.

You won’t need to prove your knowledge of English if you’re a citizen or have practiced 1 year in Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, USA

The NMC is the professional regulatory body for nurses and midwives in the United Kingdom

You are required to take the IELTS or OET Test - If you have not studied in English or if you do not speak english at work on a regular basis

As part of your NMC process, you will have to take the CBT test. This is a Computer Based Test to assess your clinical knowledge. MMA will provide you with resources and mock exams to help you prepare.

PLEASE NOTE: European and NMC Pinned are not required to take the CBT Test for Registration

If you do not have a UK passport or residence permit to work in the UK, select option "Require Visa (COS)"

Please provide us with a UK Postcode or just the town and county where they are based. Our team will do our best to find you something close to your friends or family in the UK.

FOR EXAMPLE: I am working is a surgical ward. The ward caters for patients undergoing a wide range of general and complex surgical procedures. The surgical ward staff are experienced in caring for patients with post operative complications including pain management, wound care and nutritional needs.
