Student Parent Ambassador
Student Parent Ambassadors provides an essential role at the Student Parent Center. Providing a first point of contact for new and continuing undergraduate and graduate student parents. Are knowledgeable of student parent resources regarding: financial aid, housing, childcare, dependent health care, pregnancy, parenting resources, and social services. Greets and welcomes student parents and their families.Directs students to the appropriate staff based on student needs. Raises awareness of Student Parent Center sponsored workshops, events, drop-in hours and scholarship opportunities via social media. Provides administrative support (ie.computer/faxing/printing/scanning support). Maintains Student Parent Center community space
*Minimum commitment of 8-10 set hours per week during operating hours (M-F 9am-5pm during the academic year and M-F 10am-4pm during the summer).Availability for 6+ hour shifts is highly preferred
*Knowledge of campus policies and programs relevant to student parent access and success (Family Housing, Child Care Services, Financial Aid, Academic Support Services, Outreach Programs and Transfer Admissions)
*Must be comfortable working with various family and parenting styles
*Ability to advise students with extreme discretion and confidentiality
*Apple computer based competencies, Photoshop, Bdrive
Monitor, moderate, take and post photos and images on social media
*Prior internship experience with the Student Parent Center or minimum of 1 year consistent interaction with the Student Parent Center
