Community Education Workshops
Whether you’re a seasoned green thumb or new to the patch, Gateway Greening is here to help. We offer free Garden Education Workshops most Saturdays from March to October at the Demonstration Garden on Bell Avenue, the Carriage House, and Gateway Greening's Urban Farm. Learn about topics from garden care and landscaping principles to tomato canning and chicken keeping. Each workshop is open to Gateway Greening gardeners and the general public.
Unless otherwise noted, all workshops are free and open to the public.
Location is noted in the program description. For classes at the Demonstration Garden and the Carriage House, parking is on the street along Bell Ave. For classes at the Urban Farm, parking is along Pine Ave.

Urban Ag: Building Healthy Soils, March 25th
The health of soils is what makes or breaks a farm and urban, organic agriculture depends on building healthy soils to produce high yields in compact spaces. Learn the science and the methods to building and maintaining healthy soils in an urban setting with Outreach Manager Matt Even.

Growing Mushrooms, April 1
Have a shady spot in your garden where nothing green will grow... try branching out and growing some non-vegetables, mushrooms! Outreach Manager Matt Even and Garden Program Manager Dean Gunderson will cover the basics of growing edible fungi.
