2025 United Fire Firefighter of the Year Award

The search is on... for the THIRTY-SECOND ANNUAL United Fire Firefighter of the Year!


We’re looking for an individual who exemplifies the character, commitment, and compassion that are the hallmarks of the firefighter profession.


Do you know a firefighter who deserves to be the 2025 United Fire Firefighter of the Year?


Nominate that special someone right here, right now and help us celebrate Arizona’s bravest.

OFFICIAL RULES:

  • Nominee must be an Arizona firefighter (career or volunteer) recognized for a courageous act or meaningful contribution to life safety, fire prevention, or education.


  • The qualifying action must have occurred between March 1, 2024 and July 15, 2025.


  • Nominations must be received by August 6, 2025, and must be for one individual only.


  • Only one nomination per person is allowed each year. Duplicate or shallow entries may be disqualified.


  • Submissions must describe a specific event or contribution in enough detail for review by our independent judging panel.


  • United Fire reserves the right to issue FFOTY T-shirts and Letters of Recognition only for complete and valid nominations.


  • If multiple people wish to nominate the same firefighter, please consider submitting a single, detailed nomination together.


  • The winner will be announced at the Arizona State Fire School on Thursday, September 4, 2025, and will receive over $3,000 in prizes, including $1,000 in cash. Their department will also receive a $500 United Fire credit.
