2017 Campership and NYLT Scholarship Application
Camperships and other scholarships are developed to help provide life-changing experiences for Scouts who, because of financial challenges, may not otherwise be able to attend one of our camps or a training. Contributions are sought after with an emphasis on making sure every Scout has the chance to go to camp or NYLT, changing their lives through recreation, friendship, and experiences which will cultivate skills and values needed for success in the future.
Scouts who face financial challenges have attended camps in the past due to the support of the campership program funded by Scouting alumni, community organizations, and grants organized and allocated by the Pathway to Adventure Council.
To be eligible for a campership, the following guidelines must be met by the youth applicant:
-Registered within the Pathway to Adventure Council and in good standing for at least 30 days prior to completing an application.
-Attending a Pathway to Adventure Council operated Summer Camp (Day Camp, Cub Scout Resident Camp, Webelos Resident Camp, or Boy Scout Resident Camp)
-Recommended by his/her unit leader (committee chair, Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, or Advisor) and parent/guardian.
Applying for campership aid must be done online via the Pathway to Adventure Council Website by APRIL 1st to allow time for review and allocations. If approved, the campership amount will be applied to the event when registration of the individual is confirmed. Funds will be credited to the appropriate unit camp balance on or before April 15 to give adequate time for notification by email of parents and unit leaders. It is critical that correct parent and unit leader email addresses are given on the application, as this is the primary method of notification, or for any questions from the committee. The campership is to a specific individual and is not transferable to other youth.
FOR NYLT: applicants must submit this form a minimum of 45 days in advance of the start date of the activity/event for which you are requesting funds.
Camperships and NYTL scholarships are awarded based on need. The allocation process, and information used in it, is confidential and will not be shared outside of the campership allocations committees.
A Scout is Thrifty: A Scout works to pay his own way and help others. Camperships and scholarships will not exceed 50% of the fee.
Remember, this deadline will approach quickly. Do not wait until the last minute to commit to coming to summer camp. Camperships cannot be awarded without a completed application.
