Applications are processed in the order received and in accordance with the REAL Curriculum Committee's review schedule which is published on the REAL website, real.vcu.edu/apply. Be sure to have your completed REAL curriculum learning plan as well as your course syllabus with the REAL statement on hand as you prepare to submit this form. (Any REAL course also designated service learning must also include the service learning syllabus statement and require 20 hours minimum of service.)

The REAL classification process is guided by the REAL Curriculum Committee (RCC). All applications for initial classification are reviewed by the RCC to ensure the course is classified at the appropriate level and assigned the appropriate type. If you have questions about the requirements or how to prepare your application, please ask for help from the RCC before submitting this application.

Upon approval from the RCC, the next step is to proceed through the UUCC or UGC workflows as with any other course changes. REAL course attributes can NOT be added in Banner and the Bulletin without obtaining approval from these curricular bodies.
