2023-24 POD CONFERENCE & TRAVEL FUNDING APPLICATION

Update: November 1, 2023


Guidelines:

  • Per Senate Bill 447 (2023), Assembly Bill 1887 (2016) is no longer in effect, and the State of California's restriction on state-funded travel has been eliminated.
  • Mt. SAC's AP 7400 is currently being updated to reflect that change.
  • Please read Mt. SAC AP 7400 Travel policy before completing this application.
  • Apply at least 3 weeks prior to your event to ensure adequate time for processing.
  • Before you submit your application, please contact your manager:
  1. Obtain their approval to attend the conference
  2. Let them know you are applying for POD conference and travel funding     
  • Apply for up to $1800 per academic year, provided funding is available (you may apply multiple times until you have reached the $1800 threshold).                                               
  • For GROUP applications (3 or more employees attending the same conference) please identify a group leader and have that individual submit ONE application for the entire group.


Please note:

  • PDC Conference and travel funding cannot be used for:
  1. Tuition and fees to enroll in an educational program or class.
  2. Tradeshows
  3. Cannot be used for licensing
  • Your contributions are important to support on college's success and mission. Choose between multiple options to report out for reimbursement.
  • You cannot apply for POD conference and travel funding retroactively.
  • Application for funding does not guarantee approval.

Group Application

A GROUP application needs to be submitted when 3 or more employees are applying for funding to attend the same conference. Please identify a group leader to submit ONE application on behalf of the group to share the additional information requested below. PLEASE Complete this section ONLY IF you are applying for POD Conference and travel as a group.

Please list each person's name and their role.

Explain how approved POD funding will be shared in the group (e.g. shared transportation cost, group conference rate, etc.)

Explain how your group will work together (e.g., pre-conference meeting, coordination plan to maximize attendance at different sessions, post-conference meeting, etc.)
