The Office of Research strongly supports the acquisition and use of shared equipment through its core facilities.


Complete this form to request additional equipment for a Core Facility housed in the Office of Research.


The Office of Research will carefully consider any requests to add equipment by asking a series of questions to evaluate the opportunity. Factors to consider include available capacity and expertise among existing core facility staff, and the financial commitment associated with the equipment.


Requests for placing equipment in an Office of Research core will be evaluated by the Core Facilities Support Team and a recommendation will be made to the Vice President for a final decision.

Is the user base sufficient to support placing the equipment in a core? We will consider the size of the existing and potential user base, as applicable, depending on whether this equipment is new to campus or is already existing in another unit. The business models used by our core facilities generally cannot support one-user pieces of equipment. Please include the estimated number of investigator groups that will ue this equipment.
