Students are eligible to take a leave of absence for a mission (humanitarian service is also applicable) or military deployment for a maximum of seven semesters. A student must have completed at least one semester at Ensign College.

International students who apply for a leave of absence must also notify the International Student Office. A leave of absence will affect F-1 status and the I-20.

Current students are eligible to defer their attendance at Ensign College for religious service, including a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and/or military duty. They will need to submit a deferment form indicating the semester they will return.
