UMMC Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC) Application
The University of Maryland Medical Center's Office of Patient and Family Experiences created the Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC) to better support our patients and their families and continuously improve the care we provide. PFAC offers a valuable opportunity for patients, families, doctors, nurses, and staff to collaborate in enhancing the quality of care.
We are seeking individuals who can help us:
- Listen to and represent patients' and families' perspectives, experiences, and needs;
- Build strong partnerships between patients, families, and healthcare providers;
- Take action to improve the overall healthcare experience for patients and families;
- Ensure patients receive the best and safest care possible.
To be eligible, you should be:
- A current or former UMMC patient, family member, or caregiver,
- Committed to serving on the council for at least one year,
- Able to attend at least four (4) of the 6 bi-monthly meetings each year, either virtually or in person,
- Willing to participate in at least one PFAC subcommittee or project as needed.
Our next recruiting window is April 2026. If you are interested and would like to be placed on the waitlist, please complete the PFAC Application below. A council member will contact you on details.
Thank you for your interest in helping us improve the patient and family experience at UMMC!
