The PPMI "Write Now" Initiative
Earlier this year we launched the PPMI “Write Now” Initiative; a program created to encourage PPMI investigators to engage with study data to analyze and improve the overall understanding of the pathophysiology and/or treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
Our hope is that given support, junior investigators (i.e., fellows and assistant professors in the first 5 years of appointment) will engage with PPMI data and generate publications or presentations that strengthen and bring awareness to the field. Applications are not limited to early career investigators, but applications from early career investigators will be prioritized.
Recipients of the PPMI “Write Now” Initiative award will receive in-kind support by way of mentorship from advisors familiar with the use of PPMI data, along with additional analytic and statistical support for their project. Recipients will also receive a cash prize of 7,000 USD made possible in partnership with The Michael J Fox Foundation.
Applications will be accepted up until August 1, 2024. Application materials will be reviewed by the PPMI Data and Publications Committee (DPC) based on a simple, yet highly competitive process. Finalists will be notified in the last week of August 2024.
To be considered for the PPMI “Write Now” Initiative, please complete the brief application and research concept form on this page. Your responses will be used to help us understand the aspirations of your project and see how we can best support you in achieving your goals.
The DPC is excited to receive and review your application, and we look forward to our potential future collaboration!
Best regards,
The PPMI DPC
