Tutor Doctor Central Toronto Student Prize Application

Thank you for taking the time to apply for our $500 student prize. There are two criteria for applicants. 1) You live in our service area. This covers part of Central Toronto and is defined by a list of postal codes. These codes are available on this sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1F1sI-eJN7QcyjPt_zAO1sRevjQaFDT9n/edit#gid=92509899 You may be asked to provide proof of address at a later date. 2) You will be attending a post-secondary program, for the first time, in September, 2024 or January, 2025. You may be asked to provide proof of acceptance at a later date. Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate work in their community as a teacher, tutor, coach, or mentor. Preference will also be given to applicants who have financial need. Applicants will be judged based on their letter of application, and if they choose to submit them, letters of reference. Only successful applicants will be contacted. Tutor Doctor employees and their family members are ineligible. Tutor Doctor reserves the right to announce the program of study that the winner will attend. No names will be released without the express consent of the winner. Applications close July 31, 2024.

Please attach a personal statement between 250 and 500 words explaining your planned course of study at the post-secondary level. Statements that are longer or shorter may be disqualified. If applicable, you may also write about how your experience as a teacher, tutor, coach, or mentor, has impacted you and your community. You may also write about financial need. You may attach up to two letters of reference from people who can attest to your work and eligibility. They cannot be written by family members. Maximum 500 words per letter. Please attach files in Word or PDF format.
