The CDE will be field testing the OPTEL in the 2023 spring semester, starting in January. The goal of the field test is to collect information from teachers to ensure that the tool will be useful and usable. Participating teachers will be asked to pair up with another teacher and identify eight English learner students they want to observe. Each teacher will then independently observe and submit ratings for each student.
