2025 NEA-Retired Distinguished Service Award

The NEA-Retired Distinguished Service Award is the highest honor presented annually to an NEA-Retired member in recognition of their contributions to public education during their years as an Active and/or Retired member in their local, state, and national associations.


The nominee should embody outstanding service to their organization while enhancing the image of public education, and they should demonstrably meet the needs of educators through their voluntary service in political action, organizing, and mentoring.


The deadline for submission is 5:00 p.m. ET on April 15, 2025. The award is announced and presented during the NEA-Retired Annual Meeting.


The Smartsheet is to be completed by a Retired state affiliate president when submitting the state’s nomination and letters of support.
