Parks & Recreation 2025 Commercial Use Application

This application requests access to use the lands and trails managed by the City and Borough of Juneau Parks & Recreation Department (11 CBJAC 01.010) for commercial activities with paying customers. The permit is only valid for the calendar year in which it was issued.


The following Parks & Recreation managed lands are available for commercial use:


  • Amalga Meadows - Kayakers Beach Trail
  • Auke Lake Wayside
  • Brotherhood Bridge Parking Lot
  • Channel Wayside Park
  • Fish Creek Parking Lot
  • Homestead Park (Closed for construction until June 3)
  • Jensen-Olson Arboretum
  • Last Chance Basin
  • Marine Park
  • Mayor Bill Overstreet Park
  • Rainforest Trail
  • Treadwell Mine Historic Trail


Please ensure that you fill out the form completely, providing detailed information regarding the proposed commercial use of CBJ Parklands. You are required to submit the following:


  • A Certificate of Commercial Liability Insurance with the City & Borough of Juneau listed as additionally insured (see Insurance Requirements section for more details).
  • A comprehensive list of all vehicles used on CBJ parkland along with a description and license plate numbers.
  • Copies of current driver's licenses for all designated drivers must be submitted no later than April 15 to Dave.Pusich@juneau.gov or dropped off at the Parks & Recreation main office now located at 1208 Glacier Ave.


MULTIPLE PERMIT LOCATIONS


If you are applying for more than one location, please complete the form in its entirety the first time. Then for each additional location, select 'No' for the second question. A condensed form will then appear, where you will only need to fill out the questions specific to the new location.


APPLICATION DATES


The regular application period runs from March 3 to March 31, 2025. The late application period extends from April 1 to June 30, 2025.



PERMIT PROCESSING


Only fully completed applications will be processed. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants are responsible for providing all requested information upon submission. Please allow up to three weeks for permit processing. To guarantee receipt of a permit by April 11, 2025, applications must be submitted no later than March 28, 2025.



PERMIT FEES & CHARGES


  • $250 non-refundable application fee for the first permitted location.
  • $100 non-refundable application fee for each additional permitted location.
  • Applications received after the regular application period will be subject to a $250 late fee.
  • A fee of $3.50 per guided person on CBJ parkland shall be paid to the department by the 15th day of each month for the prior months use.
  • Tours that take the same guest to multiple CBJ parkland locations on the same day will only incur a single $3.50 per person fee for the entire day. However, businesses must still obtain a permit for each location visited.
