2019 ACOFP Physician of the Year

Completed applications are due to ACOFP by September 1, 2018.


The ACOFP Family Physician of the Year Award is presented to an ACOFP member who exemplifies what the ACOFP believes that an osteopathic family physician should be. The osteopathic family physicians who are chosen to receive this award have made outstanding contributions to the osteopathic profession and serve their local communities in numerous activities such as church, service organizations, scouting, PTAs, etc. This individual should be a role model to peers and students.


Must be an ACOFP member in good standing.

Must have been board certified in family medicine for at least the last 15 years.

Must be an ACOFP Fellow (barring extenuating circumstances in which the Board of Governors will waive this requirement).

Must be currently active in osteopathic education.

Must demonstrate commitment to the osteopathic philosophy and profession.

May be nominated by the ACOFP affiliate society from the state in which the nominee practices (or by the state osteopathic association if no ACOFP affiliate society exists in the nominee’s state of practice).
