Stipend eligibility criteria
- Only non-elective rotations
- Rotation has not been previously failed
- Rotation site did not provide housing
- Student must be registered for the rotation
- The rotation site is 60 miles or greater one-way from your main campus / core clinical site
- Non-elective rotation has been completed, has started, or start date is within 30 days
- If your rotation is located in Georgia, please show proof that you applied for AHEC funding at least 60 days prior to your rotation
Please note that the stipend is made available to students as a reimbursement. Students will only be reimbursed for the amount of the out of pocket expense paid towards housing. The stipend is capped at $2500 for a four week rotation.
For example, a student has a 4 week non-elective rotation that meets all the criteria. The student spends $1999 for an Airbnb. Once the rotation starts or is within 30 days of starting. They can submit for reimbursement of $1999.
For additional loan consideration
- For elective rotations, a student will only be eligible for additional loan funding consideration.
- Student must be registered for the rotation
- Rotation has been completed, has started, or will start date is within 30 days
- For non-elective rotations, scholarship funding will be considered first then remaining expense may be eligible for additional loan funding. For example, student has a 4 week non-elective rotation. If student meets all of the criteria for the $2500, the student will be awarded the $2500 stipend and will be notified that they can apply for $1500 in additional loan funding.
