IMMERSE in STEM Application
Thank you for your interest in Skyline College's IMMERSE in STEM National Science Foundation (NSF) program.
IMMERSE in STEM supports the retention and graduation of high-achieving, low-income Skyline College students with demonstrated financial need, who are advancing toward an associate degree or transfer to a four-year university to earn a degree in:
- Biology (except medicine and other clinical fields),
- Biotechnology,
- Chemistry,
- Computer Science,
- Engineering,
- Mathematics, or
- Physics.
IMMERSE in STEM scholars will receive scholarships of up to $5,000 per semester, with possible support through transfer provided that eligibility conditions are met and funding is available.
In addition to scholarships, the program incorporates a transformative approach to mentoring, and innovative supports intended to address financial and academic barriers.

This program is competitive and meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee that you will receive a scholarship. However, we highly encourage you to apply.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Emilie Hein (heine@smccd.edu) or Rick Hough (hough@smccd.edu).
