Honors Program Application for 2026

The Honors Program seeks to admit students who demonstrate academic accomplishment and commitment to Saint Leo's core values of excellence, community, respect, personal development, responsible stewardship and integrity. Admission is selective, and neither acceptance by the University nor a grant or scholarship is a guarantee of admission to the Honors Program.

  • The application portal for 2026/2027 consideration into Honors opened on November 7, 2025 and will remain open until May 1, 2026. Students are encouraged to apply early for Honors - ideally immediately after they apply to the University - so that they can coordinate housing and course registration before those deadlines pass.

Minimum Qualifications:

Incoming Freshman:

The minimum requirements to apply to the Honors Program are a Unweighted high school GPA of 3.5, and the supplemental application below.

Incoming Transfer Students:

Students who transfer from another National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC)-recognized Honors program with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 are automatically eligible to apply. Junior transfer students holding an AA or AS degree who have a minimum GPA of 3.5 may petition to join the Honors Program for the final two years. The two-year Honors curriculum for qualified junior transfers consists of the following courses: HON 360, HON 361, HON 498 and HON 499.

The Honors community at Saint Leo is rich with students from different backgrounds with diverse interests and experiences who are genuinely curious and strive for excellence in word and deed. Such attributes are essential to cultivating our program’s focus on Global Citizenship. Please share with us how you will contribute to our community by uploading one of the following:

  1. An academic digital artifact that you created that you’re especially proud of and a brief statement of what this artifact is and how it represents your interests and commitment to your education. Examples range from videos of presentations or speeches, musical compositions, fine art, creative writing, mock business plans, science projects, and more.
  2. Read through the Honors website (https://www.saintleo.edu/academics/honors-program) and explain in an essay of 400-500 words why joining the Saint Leo Honors program is important to you and how you will contribute as a member of the Honors community.
