*This form is for use by members in England, Wales, the Channel Islands and British Scouting Overseas only. If you’re in Scotland or Northern Ireland, please contact your Country office.
If you'd like to register as an affiliate, or re-affiliate your DofE Assessor role to Scouts, please use this form.
If you’re looking to be accredited or reaccredited as a DofE Assessor, take a look at the information here:
https://help.edofe.org/hc/en-gb/articles/360004375837-FAQs-for-Expedition-Assessors
Before affiliating you to Scouts, we’ll need to make sure you have the below so we can fulfil Safety and Safeguarding requirements:
1. A full adult Scout volunteer role. Unfortunately, we’re not able to accept none members.
2. A valid disclosure.
3. The experience needed to support young people on their expeditions.
We’ll be looking for evidence of a current/valid Scout Activity Permit, or evidence of similar qualifications for hillwalking, cycling or travelling on water. If you’re hoping to become an assessor and you don’t have suitable permits or qualifications, but believe you’ve got the experience for the role, make sure you contact your County DofE Lead to set up a meeting. You can then discuss your experience and suitability for this role, and they’ll complete and submit this Endorsement Form on your behalf.
You can find more information about this here: https://www.scouts.org.uk/volunteers/running-your-section/programme-guidance/information-for-volunteers/top-awards-for-young-people/the-duke-of-edinburghs-award/guidance-for-expedition-assessors/
If you add your details to the Assessor Directory, Scout members who are looking for an Assessor will be able to see your profile as soon as your role is affiliated.
