Roles

Conference champion

Help spread the word about the conference. You can put up flyers, share posts on social media or tell us other ideas.

Volunteer lead

Serve as a point person and help orient other volunteers.

Check-in desk

Help guests register or check-in to the conference, hand out name tags, answer questions and welcome community members into the space. Help lead exhibitors to assigned booths.

We especially need bilingual volunteers in this position. We want to offer Spanish-, Somali- and Hmong-speaking check-in lines.

Greeter

In pairs or trios, welcome guests into the space, direct them to conference registration and answer questions about the conference.

Lunch assistant

Direct guests get in the correct lunch line, show guests where the compostable and other waste products go, bring food to guests with limited mobility, and possibly help individual vendors.

Scavenger hunt assistant

Serve at the “Scavenger Hunt Kiosk” to answer questions and hand out Hunt Cards to conference attendees. Explain rules, hand out prizes.

Workshop helper

Help collect evaluations, take headcounts and assist with breakout session logistics.

Lead assistant

A little bit of everything! You'll be assigned to a conference lead (tech, exhibit hall, workshops) and help manage last minute requests. This may include checking in with workshop presenters about their space needs, bring tables/chairs to exhibitors, etc.
