Good Samaritan Society RN & LPN Sponsorship

Sanford Health and the Good Samaritan Society (GSS) make available a financial resource to assist students with the expenses associated with completion of their nursing degree. In return for the financial resource, the student has the opportunity to become employed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in a full time status at one of our participating GSS locations across the nation. Please note that not every sponsorship is available at every location. If you are interested in the BuildDakota (SD) or Career Builder (ND) program, please contact your school for the application process.

ELIGIBILITY

Must be enrolled in a full time accredited RN or LPN program.
Must maintain a GPA that meets program requirements and show forward progression through the program of study.
Must sign a contract before payments are processed.
Must commit to participating in Sanford Check-Ins (email, phone, or in person) during program of study.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

RN: Award of up to $15,000, 3 year commitment
LPN: Award of up to $10,000, 2 year commitment
Recipients are not eligible for any GSS Hiring Bonus being offered at the time of employment.
Forgiveness will begin upon starting in a full time status as a RN or LPN.
Failure to comply with any of the requirements of this program will result in repayment of the loan with interest.

FUNDING

Sanford Health provides this financial resource directly to the students selected through the application process. Any and all taxes associated with this financial resource become due at the time of forgiveness. You will see the taxes being deducted in the tax year of your employment as a full time LPN or RN. This is in accordance with the Internal Revenue Services’ guidelines.
