The Southwest Washington Regional Juried Exhibition serves area artists by providing a high-quality exhibition opportunity that promotes the region’s creative identity.


The Southwest Washington Juried Exhibition is organized by The Leonor R. Fuller Gallery at the Kenneth J Minnaert Center for the Arts on the campus of South Puget Sound Community College. Artists working in all media and residing in Clark, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Pierce, Skamania, Thurston, or Wahkiakum counties are invited to submit an entry for consideration.


GUEST JUROR: Janae Huber, Collections Manager Art in Public Spaces for the Washington State Arts Commission.


IMPORTANT DATES

May 16:  Entries due

May 29 - 30:   Notification of accepted artwork

June 17,18, & 20:  Delivery of accepted artwork to The Leo Gallery between 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. SPSCC Campus is closed June 19.

July 7:    Exhibition opens.

July 10:    Opening reception and awards presentation.

August 28:    Exhibition closes.

September 2 - 4: Pick up of artwork between 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.


AWARDS


  • Merit Awards - $100 each and inclusion in the Juror’s Invitational Group Show held in April the following year.
  • Purchase Awards - Artwork selected for purchase by the college.
  • Viewer’s Choice Award – Winning artwork featured on the cover of the current exhibition catalog and publicity for the following year.
  • Submitting artists receive an exhibition catalog.

HOW TO ENTER:

  • Submit entry form below.


  • Submit images of up to 3 artworks. Artists may include no more than 3 additional detail images.

            *All submitted artwork must be available to exhibit if selected.


  • Images must be in jpg format, high quality resolution, and no greater than 5 MB in files size.


  • Artwork must have been created within the last 3 years, must not exceed 72” in the longest dimension, and must weigh less than 150 lbs.


  • Submit an artist statement in a single .docx or .pdf of no more than 350 words. (optional)
  • An artist statement is a brief overview of the artist's ideas, artistic style, and vision.
  • The statement includes an explanation of the materials and techniques used to create the work.
  • The statement may also include a description of the artist's goals, aspirations, and what inspires them.


  • Submit a brief bio in a single .docx or .pdf of no more than 250 words. (optional)
  • An artists bio includes where the artist studied art or if the artist is self taught. May include notable teachers.
  • A bio includes experience, career milestones, key works, and other relevant details.
  • A bio includes influences like what inspires you and what your passions are.
  • A bio includes themes present in your work.
  • A bio includes what medium or techniques you use realitve to the themes.
  • A bio may include where you currently live and work.


  • Pay entry fee: $25 per artist.


  • After you click "Submit" at the end of this form, you will be redirected to a secure payment page.


  • You must submit entry payment in order to be considered for exhibition.

SUBMISSION GUIDLINES

  • Artists must live in Clark, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Pierce, Skamania, Thurston, or Wahkiakum counties.


  • Artists must be 18 years of age or older.


  • Submit Entry Form.


  • Pay entry fee: $25 per artist.


  • The Gallery retains a 25% commission on all sales.
