Be Well Bells- Call to Artists

Be Well Community Movement

In 2021, Burrell Behavioral Health launched the Be Well Community Movement, a wellness and awareness campaign. Each Be Well bell is a custom-designed sculpture displayed in our communities (see the story behind the bell symbol here). These bells symbolize mental health awareness, fostering conversations, connecting people to resources, ending stigma, reducing suicide, and inspiring hope for a better tomorrow.

Impact of Be Well Bells

When community members encounter the Be Well Bells, they will find mental health awareness, hope, healing, and connection at their fingertips. The bells also showcase the participating organizations' commitment to mental health. Beyond promoting wellness, the initiative celebrates organizations investing in mental health and offering support to those beginning their mental health journey.

Fabrication and Display

The Be Well Bells are crafted by Paragon 360 and displayed at locations chosen by participating organizations.

Vision Statement

Leading our communities in prioritizing mental health and wellness, creating environments that invest in mental well-being to improve overall community health and enrich lives.

Purpose

The Be Well Bells serve as visual reminders of the commitment to mental health care, addressing suicide, igniting hope, and providing connections to support and resources. We are searching for artists' designs that illustrate any, all or some of the following principles: hope, self-care, connection, healing, mental health, wellness, suicide prevention, quality of life, enrichment, mindfulness, validation, compassion, community, and trauma-informed care.

Artist Collaboration

Chosen artists will be connected with a business who is inspired by their designs, potentially integrating company colors or logos upon request.

Eligibility

Artists aged 18 or older, or high school students with parental consent, who are committed to mental health wellness and overall wellbeing, can submit designs for the Be Well Bells.

Selected Artists

Selected artists will receive a $250 stipend, supplies covered up to $100, a bio and artist statement on the Be Well Community website, and exposure on social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram. Other requests such as appearances at bell reveals or events, may also be made of the artist.
