Non-Profit Pitch Nomination Form
Does your non-profit organization/community-based organization have a project you have put in place and want to take to the next level? Or do you have an innovative idea that has been sitting on the back burner? Here is your opportunity to make a pitch for projects or ideas to better serve your community through human services programs that advance economic mobility and well-being for all.
Nominate your project or idea for the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA) Non-Profit Pitch Event that will be held on Tuesday, October 25 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, as part of the annual ISM Conference & Expo. Up to six (6) non-profits in the Virginia, District of Columbia, and/or Maryland region will be selected to participate.
What is the Non-Profit Pitch Event? Think Shark Tank™ with a panel of five (5) industry thought leaders and experts who will listen to your pitch (project or idea) and invest pro-bono consulting hours (up to 10 hours) with your team between November 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023. Each investment will come with a cash stipend for the winning pitches.
Who is the event open to? Any non-profit organization and/or community-based organization in Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia may submit a pitch proposal for consideration.
How many organizations will be selected? Up to six (6) non-profits will be selected to participate. The final number selected is at the discretion of the review panel.
APHSA will provide the following:
- Up to five (5) “sharks” (thought leaders and/or executives) to hear your pitch
- One (1) hour of professional coaching prior to the pitch, compliments of Ginger Johnson, ISM Keynote Speaker
- Complimentary one-day conference pass for up to three (3) individuals who are participating in the pitch at the ISM Conference & Expo Hall on Tuesday, October 25
- Complimentary one-day self-parking for up to three (3) individuals who are participating in the pitch at the ISM Conference & Expo Hall on Tuesday, October 25
- Press release announcing those that receive investment from the "sharks"
- A minimum of one (1) article in Policy & Practice magazine in 2023
Evaluation of submissions will be reviewed with the following in mind:
- Community/communities being served in the human services ecosystems
- Solution to a human services issue
- If an existing project, how long the project has been in place and statistics on current results
- What technology is being used
Applications close on Monday, October 10, 2022 - EXTENDED to Tuesday, October 18. Selected organizations will be notified by email no later than Monday, October 17, 2022 - notified by Wednesday, Oct 19.
