The Show Cause submission is your opportunity to provide RMIT with information on your situation, how your study has been affected and what steps you can take for improvement in continuing your studies. It is an important step in being able to continue your study at RMIT.

Show Cause Submission

The submission will be in 2 parts: - an explanation of the reasons for the Unsatisfactory academic performance, what happened and how it affected your study AND - what steps you will take for improvement, such as study plans, seeking assistance and support, and how we can help. Please provide as much detail as possible in the sections below. We strongly encourage you to provide a personal statement with full explanations to support your submission.

Issues and Impact

Please provide detailed dot points explaining the issues you have faced and the impacts this has had on your study. Please note that all personal information will be treated as Confidential.

Please outline any academic issues and how they have impacted your study.

Please list the personal reasons and how they impacted your study. (For example health, financial, family, living arrangements, work) Please ensure to provide evidence to support your submission. Refer to the RMIT Show Cause submission pages using the links at the top of this form for more information.

List the steps you will take/have taken to improve your academic performance? (Please include any assistance you have sought e.g. SLC, SLAMS, GP etc.)

Please list any evidence that you are providing with your submission.

What happens next?

Once your submission is received, it will be reviewed, and will be referred to the Program Assessment Board for evaluation. Please check your RMIT student email account as you will be emailed with the outcome once a final decision has been confirmed.
