2025-26 Norman Vestal Scholarship Application

APPLICATION GUIDELINES

The Rotary Club of San Antonio will grant five (5) $500 scholarships* to area graduating high school seniors from Bexar County who plan to pursue a career in Agrilife (to include Agribusiness and Ag Mechanics). *Note: Additional amounts may be awarded at the discretion of the committee

Eligibility:

1. Currently enrolled in a high school in Bexar County.

2. Classified as a Senior during the 2024-2025 School year.

3. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

4. Cannot be the child or grandchild of a Rotarian.

5. Must plan on attending college during the 2025-2026 academic year at an accredited college or university.

6. Must be pursuing a degree in Agri-Life (to include Agri-Business & Ag Mechanics).

Criteria for Selection Agriculture Service / Community Service / Academics

In order to be considered for this scholarship, applicants must submit the following information:

1. Unofficial School Transcript - Must include class rank and size

2. Copy of ACT or SAT Scores

3. Two Letters of Recommendation - Letters must be on organization/school letterhead and be signed. A.) Letter 1 - Individual familiar with your agriculture involvement. B.) Letter 2 - Individual familiar with your community service activities (not to include agriculture involvement)

Who is Norman Vestal?

Norman Vestal was a tireless supporter of young men and women from our community who demonstrated an interest in Agrilife. He worked as a County Agent for the Texas Agriculture Extension office for over 30 years and was awarded County Agent Emeritus by the Texas A&M Board of Regents upon his retirement. To honor Mr. Vestal’s commitment to Rotary and his support of future agriculture leaders, this scholarship was started in 2002.
