The supervisor must be a CS GSC Member. You can find a list of faculty members with Graduate Studies Committee (GSC) membership here.

CS Research Course Policies

  • This course is offered on the credit/no credit basis only.
  • Students must register for all requested section(s) of CS X95 in addition to submitting this form.
  • MS Students: CS 395 Research Courses require additional approval to be used as an elective.
  • Because approval is based on the work completed in the course, students may only make this request after the CS 395 grade has been submitted at the end of the semester.
  • For approval, ask your research supervisor to write note of support to the Graduate Advisor, Dr. Plaxton, confirming your research accomplishments for the semester.
  • Dr. Plaxton will confirm his approval with the CS Graduate Office and from there, your record will be updated.

Full Time Registration

Fall/Spring Semesters:


The standard number of hours for full-time enrollment is "9" credit hours for students with academic employment and/or international students.
