The CAL FIRE Office of the State Fire Marshal, State Fire Training Division (SFT) is forming a curriculum development cadre to replace the Rescue Systems curriculum with new Structural Collapse Rescue curriculum utilizing the NFPA 1006: Standard for Technical Rescue Personnel Professional Qualifications. The curriculum development cadre will meet in-person to shape the draft curriculum, task books, implementation plan, and other required documents. The deadline to apply is 11:59 pm on July 2, 2021.
As subject matter experts, cadre members have a key role in evaluating, developing, and validating curriculum content. They consider how curriculum updates will affect the audiences that utilize the SFT system. During the development meetings, members shall collaborate with the Cadre Lead and Editor to update or author curriculum documents. The cadre functions as a working group, with active participation from all members in analyzing and developing content and anticipating its impacts.
Members of the Cadre are expected to: •Have expertise in the field addressed by the curriculum content •Respect all cadre members and work cooperatively in a group setting •Be available to attend all meetings •Complete all pre- and post-meeting assignments
All meetings are held in Sacramento, CA. All travel, per diem, mileage, room and board expenses will be paid directly or reimbursed.
The Structural Collapse Rescue Cadre is scheduled from August 23-27 and October 11-15 from 0830-1700.
