Microcredentialing

Thank you for choosing Liberty University's Center for Professional and Continuing Education for your microcredentialing needs!


This application is for anyone seeking to add Continuing Education Units (CEUs), Digital Badges, or Certificates of Completion to a course, seminar, or other activity. Please keep the following definitions in mind, as you contemplate which type of microcredential is best for your activity:

  • CEUs: CEUs are awarded for activities in which participants need proof of completion to submit to a governing body. These activities are generally associated with licensure requirements for specific professions.
  • Digital Badges: Digital badges contain metadata specific to the issuing institution and the completed activity. Digital badges will be added to the completer's digital backpack and can be shared on social media and professional networking sites.
  • Certificates of Completion: A certificate of completion is awarded based on completion of the necessary activity. Certificates of completion bear the institution name, the course name, and the signature of the Director of the Center for Professional and Continuing Education.

Will the participants need proof of completion to submit to a governing body?

 

If you answer "Yes," you will be asked to submit the instructor's proof of qualifications at the end of this form.


Evidence of instructor qualification can be submitted as a CV, resume, or other type of document that demonstrates the instructor's qualifications to lead this activity.


Note: If you select "No," your course can not be credentialed with CEUs.

 

If you are able to provide evidence of intentional learning, select the document that will be provided. Otherwise, select "No."


If you indicate that evidence of intentional learning can be provided, you will be asked to submit that evidence at the end of the form.


Note: If you cannot provide evidence of intentional learning, your course cannot be credentialed with CEUs.

 

Indicate how many hours you expect that it will take the learner to complete the course, seminar, or activity.

If it will take several days to complete (e.g. a conference or seminar) indicate the number of hours, with each day being counted as 8 hours. (For example, a two-day conference would be entered as 16 hours.)

 

For example:

  • The learner will be required to pass the course with an 80% or higher.
  • The learner will be required to attend all conference sessions.
  • The learner will be required to attend at least 3 training sessions.
