Report a Disciplinary Offence (including a Black Card)

This form is to report alleged and actual Disciplinary Offences including Black Cards.


Disciplinary Offences are those actions that breach the BF Codes of Conduct: https://www.britishfencing.com/policy-zone/codes-of-conduct/

You do not need to give your name to report a disciplinary offence. However, we encourage that personal information is disclosed to enable appropriate follow up.


If you don’t supply any personal data this may affect our ability to investigate and take action, we will not be able to follow up with you if we need clarification, and cannot update you (if appropriate) on progress.


We may be able to keep your details anonymous (see below to indicate preferences).

Black cards should only be reported by the Event Organising Team (including Head Referees) or those acting on their behalf.

All information received will be treated in confidence and only shared on a need to know basis with those individuals who will be able to manage the situation. On occasion it may be necessary to seek advice, or inform the statutory agencies e.g. the Police or Local Authority Services. When investigating safeguarding concerns it may also be necessary and appropriate to contact those responsible for safeguarding in other organisations, such as schools and clubs, and share information with them. In these cases we may share personal your data.


Depending on the information provide will impact the retention. If there is a resulting safeguarding investigation we reserve the right to store and retain the personal data you have provided in this form indefinitely.


Complaints or Queries

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, 2018, you have rights as an individual which you can exercise in relation to the information we hold about you. BF tries to meet the highest standards when collecting and using personal information. For this reason, we take any complaints we receive about this very seriously. We encourage people to bring it to our attention if they think that our collection or use of information is unfair, misleading or inappropriate. We would also welcome any suggestions for improving our procedures.

Access to your data

BF tries to be as open as we can be in terms of giving people access to their personal information. If we do hold information about you, we will:

•    tell you why we are holding it;

•    tell you who it could be disclosed to; and

•    let you have a copy of the information in an intelligible form.
