ChargeForward Application

Appalachian Power Company (“Appalachian Power” or “APCo”) is providing incentives to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles in it's APCo and Wheeling Power's West Virginia service territory.


Appalachian Power customers in West Virginia who install a new Energy Star Level 2 (220 volt) EV charging station in their homes after July 1, 2021 will be eligible for an incentive up to $250. An additional rebate of up to $250 is available to customers that have an EV Charger installed by a licensed electrician. An active Appalachian Power, West Virginia electric service must be established for the home and verified by Appalachian Power before the rebate can be processed.


A copy of the equipment receipt and/or installation invoice on the licensed contractor's letterhead is required, which must be submitted by the customer to Appalachian Power along with this application. Program funding will be available from July 1, 2021 until approved funds are exhausted or December 31, 2024, whichever comes first.


Eligibility Criteria:

1. Appalachian Power customers in West Virginia service area.

2. Pass an inspection of your charging equipment, if required, and include permit number and date of inspection.
