Ally vs. Accomplice

There are many people working and volunteering their time and focusing on creating respectful interactions and advocating for the needs of the birthing community. We come into this work with our lived experiences, values and personal objectives. This session seeks to hold space for the ways we show up to do this work. We want to ensure that we are aware of ourselves, centered during every interaction and not causing any harm to the birthing community.

Objectives:

• Describe and define an ally and accomplice
• What are barriers & fears to being an ally and/or accomplice
• List actions to promote an environment for authentic conversations related to the concept of ally and accomplice
• Foster collaboration and shared responsibility
