XPONENTIAL 2023 Sandbox Submission

To encourage additional learning opportunities on the show floor and create greater collaboration among attendees, the Sandbox will be positioned to industry leaders, researchers, and academic institutions as a space for problem-solving and exploration.


Engineers, research specialists, solution providers, university students, research assistants, professors, and others are invited to participate by reserving space in the Sandbox for a specific date/time during the show. During this time, participants will host the space and share their problem/research/discussion topic with conference attendees, industry leaders, and other learners who join them in the Sandbox.


The goal is to use the XPO community to problem-solve, collaborate, and seek solutions in the field of autonomous systems.

Guidelines

Hosts:

  • Each group should plan to staff the Sandbox space with 2-3 individuals during the entire time slot.
  • Plan to collect contact information from participants who attend the Sandbox session.


Problem Presentation:

  • A problem, research question, or discussion topic should be presented to attendees joining the Sandbox.


Sandbox Success:

  • Participants will work toward a solution and share their research/ solutions during the reserved timeslot.


Resources:

  • Hosts should provide all materials required for the problem-solving session.
  • Tables/chairs/whiteboards/markers/pens/paper will be available, but other materials must be provided by the host.
  • Neither AV nor electric is available in the Sandbox.


Benefits:

  • In addition to using the Sandbox to brainstorm, analyze, solve and collect research, participants will gain important exposure to industry experts and have easy access to the exhibit hall.

Logistics

  • All submissions should be accompanied with an abstract of the problem, research question, or discussion topic, as well as a logo and host names.


  • Universities participating in the Sandbox will be provided with complimentary XPO Hall Passes for ALL university faculty and students in attendance.

Please provide any specific details that will assist AUVSI in providing the desired requested resources, i.e. highlighters, specific colored markers, sticky notes sizes/colors, etc.

XPONENTIAL Presentation and Speaker Agreements

Speaker Agreement


XPONENTIAL 2023 ("Event") is a trade event which is co-produced by PFM Events, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("PFM") and its alliance partner Messe Düsseldorf North America, Inc. d/b/a Messe Düsseldorf North America ("MDNA"). PFM is a Wholly Owned Entity of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International d/b/a the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (“AUVSI”). Its purpose is to exchange and disseminate information about markets, business opportunities, technological development, research, innovation, applications, education, policies, and other relevant areas, in order to promote and advance the safe, productive, and economically beneficial use of uncrewed vehicle systems. Exhibitors may be businesses, individuals, government agencies, academic institutions and other entities that work toward these purposes.


Event Management" means PFM, MDNA, AUVSI, and their respective owners, officers, directors, members, agents, affiliates, representatives, employees, successors, and assigns.


If selected, through my participation as a program presenter at the Event, I agree to abide by the terms of this Speaker Agreement.


If presentation is delivered at the Event, I will not engage in any type of promotional marketing or selling of any product or service, unless approved by Event Management. I will not disparage Event Management in any way in connection with my participation as a program presenter at the Event.


If presentation is delivered at the Event, I grant to Event Management a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable license to use, reproduce, publish, modify, and distribute in print, electronically, online, or in any other format, now or hereafter existing, my presentation (including all handouts, digital slide presentations, and all written and electronic materials provided in connection with the presentation) in whole or in part, for commercial or non-commercial purposes, with appropriate attribution to me. Further, I grant Event Management permission to use, reproduce and distribute a summary of my presentation, with appropriate attribution. I understand that this license does not change the fact that I retain copyright ownership of my presentation and does not prohibit me from using my presentation in any way or from allowing others to use it.


I warrant and represent, to the best of my knowledge, that my presentation does not violate any proprietary or personal rights of others (including any copyright, trademark, and privacy rights), is factually accurate, and contains nothing defamatory or otherwise unlawful, and that I have the full authority to enter into this agreement and have obtained all necessary permissions or licenses from any individuals or organizations whose material is included or used in my presentation. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Event Management, its affiliates and sublicensees, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents, from any and all breaches of these representations and warranties.


I authorize Event Management to use my name, photograph, and biographical data in connection with the use and promotion of the program.
