James Reid Award for excellence and innovation in rural health

Nominations are invited for the James Reid Award to be presented at GP25: Conference for General Practice at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre on 26 July 2025.


Nominations should be treated as confidential and should not be discussed with the candidate. If the Division decides to proceed with the proposed award, the candidate’s approval will be sought at that time.


Each nomination requires two nominators from Division members or Rural GP Chapter members. All nominations must be submitted by 6.00pm on Thursday 17 April 2025.

Award Criteria

This award is presented annually to a rural medical practitioner or trainee (doctors and other medical professionals) who has demonstrated excellence and innovation in education or research in rural health.
