GRANT SUBMISSION PROCESS
4-6 Weeks.*Excluding holidays/recess days - *For subcontracts, due date is the date proposal is due to prime institution (i.e. pass through institution). -
Submit an intake form (available on Dartmouth-Hitchcock intranet).Begin discussion with assigned Departmental Research Administrator (DRA) to work through Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), begin budget build, and gather preliminary documents.
Note that 6 weeks is needed for:
• Subawards or other foreign components
• Sponsor is NIH, DoD, HRSA, PCORI, AHRQ, SAMHSA, ARPA-H
• Program projects/multi-components/multiple subawards and limited submissions
2 Weeks (10 Business Days) -
PI finalizes budget, justification, and scope of work (including subawards) with DRA
7 Business Days -
PI submits all final proposal documents for submission to Pre-Award Administrator. To ensure a full review all final documents should be sent as early as possible; 7 business days is the latest that materials should be received.
Depending on workload, and at the discretion of ORO leadership, proposals received fewer than 7 business days prior to deadline MAY NOT BE SUBMITTED.
The DRA reviews documents for compliance and sponsor guidelines, advises PI of any outstanding items, resolves any issues, finalizes proposal record, and initiates internal routing process for submission to SPA.
5 Business Days SPA conducts DH final compliance checks, final proposal review, identifies additional edits or ask questions as needed, ensures necessary signatures if required, and either submits or gives approval to submit.
