No charts, graphs, or special characters and formatting will be possible using the online abstract submission form. Be sure to write your abstract in text paragraphs to avoid formatting errors online. All sections combined (background, methods, results, conclusion) should not be more than 400 words.

Please complete all areas exactly as it should be printed in our event program. Do NOT type in all capital letters.

Abstracts will be blinded for judging. No identifying author, school information, or AMSA affiliation will be accessible to the judges. In order to ensure this, please do not include any identifying information such as author names or institution names in the text of your abstract submission. Submissions with identifying information in the text (background, methods, results, and conclusion sections) will be disqualified.

Briefly explain why you have pursued this project. What is the primary question, issue, challenge, need, or opportunity you are addressing? What are the visions, missions, orvalues of the project? (2 - 3 sentences)


Briefly explain your project's process. The focus should be on key elements, such as the project's subjects or target population, recruitment methods, the experiment/project protocol, and any evaluation tools used, so the reader can understand the basic structure of the research/project/experience. Discuss the outcomes of the project. This may include a range of data types from simple demographics to complicated statistics. For projects in process, please reference any early findings, and indicate whether data collection will be complete by March, 2019. Projects in process are eligible for exhibition, but will be evaluated/judged separately from completed projected. Please also note that projects reporting negative findings are considered potentially as valuable as projects reporting positive findings.
