Education Host Working Conditions*

Education Hosts are outside for 90% of their duties. You may be consistently exposed to inclement weather (heat, cold, rain, wind). Are you willing to work outdoors?

Visitor's Center Host Working Conditions*

Visitor's Center Hosts spend 90% of their time indoors. They may also be exposed to some weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind) in the outside retail area. Are you willing to work indoors?

Physical Demands*

Due to the wide variety of tasks that Host Volunteers will perform, you may be required to stand/walk for up to 4 hours, bend, stoop, sit for long periods of time, and lift up to 25lbs. Are you able to fulfill the physical duties of the role up to 5 days/week?

Our Host Volunteers are needed October through the end of April. Hosts must be on-site and available to attend orientation by October 1st. Are you able to arrive by October 1st, 2025?

This position is UNPAID. Host Volunteers will receive a free RV site at Boyce Thompson Arboretum with FHU, access to the arboretum grounds after-hours, and laundry and showers on-site (available for use 24/7, at no cost). WiFi and cable are NOT provided. Boyce Thompson Arboretum is dog friendly.
