A mandatory orientation will be held in person on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 7:00pm.


Check-in commences at 6:00pm.

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. The state of medical knowledge is evolving, but the virus is believed to spread from person-to-person contact and/or by contact with contaminated surfaces and objects, and through the air. People reportedly can be infected and show no symptoms and therefore unknowingly spread the disease. The exact methods of spread and contraction are unknown, and there is no known treatment or cure for COVID-19. Evidence has shown that COVID-19 can cause serious and potentially life-threatening illness and even death. Neither the Village of River Forest nor its representatives can prevent you from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 as a result of attending any orientations, meetings, examinations or interviews that are related to potential Village of River Forest employment. It is not possible to prevent against the presence of the disease. Therefore, if you choose to attend an orientation or examination or interview related to potential Village of River Forest employment, you may be exposing yourself to and/or increasing your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19. The undersigned acknowledges that she/he may be considered part of a vulnerable population that is more susceptible to contracting COVID-19, due to age and/or other characteristics of personal health. Despite these considerations, the undersigned hereby accepts the risks of contracting COVID-19 in order to voluntarily attend any orientation/meeting/examination or interview related to potential Village of River Forest employment, and that you will abide by all health safety protocols communicated in advance of, as well as during, all such events. The undersigned also agrees to hold forever harmless, release, indemnify, discharge and never sue the Village of River Forest or its representatives as a result of attending any orientation/meeting/examination or interview related to potential Village of River Forest employment.

The undersigned, recognizing the CPAT is an integral part of the examination for Firefighter/Paramedic in the Village of River Forest, Illinois, hereby releases, remises and discharges the Village of River Forest, Illinois, a municipal corporation, and its officers, servants, agents and employees from any and all claims, demands and liabilities to me on account of and all injuries, losses and damages to my person shall have been caused, or may at any time arise as the result of certain Firefighter/Paramedic examinations conducted by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of said Village of River Forest, Illinois. The intention hereof being to completely, absolutely and finally release said Village of River Forest, Illinois, their officers, servants, agents and employees of and from any and all liability arising wholly or partially from the cause aforesaid.
