OHA Contact Tracing Interest Form
Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is seeking contact tracers to support Oregon and local public health authorities to perform COVID-19 contact tracing. Contact tracing recruitment is developing through partnership with the state, local public health authorities, and community based organizations. Hiring contact tracers will depend on the needs of the local public health authorities and by region of the state. OHA will train contact tracers in the basics of the virus, epidemiology, case investigation, and contact tracing. Contact tracers are an important part of Oregon's response to contain the spread of COVID-19. Those who have been exposed to COVID-19 must be notified and monitored to limit and contain outbreaks. Contact tracers will perform the following tasks: 1. Notify those who have been identified as COVID-19 contacts; 2. Communicate quarantine requirements and check in daily during this period to monitor developing symptoms; and 3. Connect to a case investigator and support services as needed. Required skills and attributes for this type of work include: -Customer service -Clear communication -Attention to detail and organization -The ability to work flexibly in a changing environment -Experience working in a community setting Bilingual abilities and a health care or public health background are desirable. Your interest will be shared with Oregon local public health authorities or tribal health administrators for follow up.
