MD Village Impact

The "village neighbor helping neighbor model" is a community-driven, grassroots initiative where residents organize to support one another, with a particular focus on enabling older adults to age comfortably and safely in their community and residence.

Help Us Showcase the Maryland Village Impact: Share Your Data

Villages like yours are making a tangible difference across Maryland, empowering residents to thrive in age-friendly communities. From Montgomery and Baltimore Counties to Prince George's and beyond, your efforts are invaluable. The Maryland Department of Aging recognizes this impact and actively supports these initiatives through competitive funding opportunities.

The Challenge: A Fragmented View of Our Collective Strength

Currently, Villages across Maryland utilize diverse data collection methods. This lack of a unified approach makes it difficult to paint a comprehensive picture of our statewide impact and share our collective successes effectively.

The Solution: A Unified Platform for Maryland Village Data

To address this, we are introducing a centralized platform for Villages to input key information. This system is designed to capture essential data points that, together, will tell the powerful story of the Maryland Village movement.

Why Your Data Matters: Strengthening Our Network and Reach

By contributing your Village's information, you help us:

  • Maintain Up-to-Date Village Contacts: Create an accurate, easily accessible directory for interested community members, potential volunteers, and new residents seeking Village services.

  • Inform and Engage Partners: Provide concrete data to demonstrate our collective impact to potential partners, healthcare providers, and local organizations, fostering collaboration.

  • Advocate with Policymakers: Offer compelling evidence of the value and reach of Villages to inform policy decisions and advocate for continued support.

  • Attract Philanthropic Support: Showcase the scope and success of the Village model to potential funders and grant-making organizations.

  • Learn from Each Other: Identify trends, best practices, and areas for growth across the Maryland Village network.

Your participation is crucial in building a robust dataset that highlights the vital role Villages play in Maryland. Together, we can amplify your story and expand the positive influence that Villages play!
