Harbor Freight Tools Gift Card Donation Requests - 2024 - 2025

If you are a Harbor Freight Associate and have been affected by an unexpected, unavoidable crisis and are in financial need, please apply to our Employee Emergency Relief Fund (EERF). To apply, go to www.myHFT.com to review our FAQs, guidelines, eligibility requirements and application form.

All donations are given in the form of Harbor Freight Store gift cards. We do not provide cash donations, event sponsorships or support for individuals.


Harbor Freight Tools proudly supports the following:



Skilled Trades Education


  • Skilled trades classes that emphasize the expert use of tools and materials to build, repair and maintain products and structures. Fields include Agricultural Mechanics, Carpentry, Construction, Electrical, HVAC, Advanced Manufacturing, Plumbing, Transportation Mechanics and Repair, and Welding
  • Donation requests must be submitted by a K-12 public-school teacher for their own school/classroom. Harbor Freight store gift cards are given directly to the school/teacher requesting one. We do not provide donations to outside organizations, clubs or third parties.



Veteran Organizations


  • Must be a 501(c)3 or 501(c)19 Organization
  • Raffles and fundraisers
  • Veterans memorials
  • Veterans' gardens, museums, cemeteries
  • Donation requests must be submitted by a representative of the veterans' organization requesting the donation. Harbor Freight store gift cards are given directly to the organization requesting one. We do not provide donations to outside organizations or third parties.


First Responders


  • May include local public safety agencies such as Police, Fire and EMS
  • Tools and safety equipment
  • Improvement projects, such as repairs to Police, Fire and EMS facilities
  • Donation requests must be submitted by a member of the department for their own department. Harbor Freight store gift cards are given directly to the department requesting one. We do not provide donations to outside organizations or third parties.



Our support for community activities is directed to the areas listed above, and we regret that we cannot fulfill all donation requests. Recipients must be U.S. based organizations and must certify that they maintain current tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)3 or (c)19 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, or the equivalent.



We do not make donations to:

  • Social and fraternal organizations
  • Individuals
  • Foundations or scholarship funds
  • Sports organizations, including youth, amateur and professional athletic teams, or events
  • Political, legislative, or lobbying organizations
  • Post-Secondary, private/religious-based schools
  • Healthcare organizations
  • Religiously affiliated institutions, groups, and/or events
  • PTO/PTA or Boosters organizations
  • School Clubs
  • Robotics
  • School beautification projects
  • General classroom requests



Criteria for donation requests:


Please note that all required documentation, i.e., Tax ID or NCES ID, and IRS Declaration letter or Tax-Exempt status letter must be submitted with your donation request. If documentation is not submitted with your request, the request will be declined.


• Applicant nonprofit organization must hold current tax-exempt status for at least one year as a public charity under Section 501(c)(3), or (19) of the Internal Revenue Code, listed on the IRS Master File and conducting activities within the United States prior to applying. Requests from organizations without a 501(c)3 or (19) status, or the equivalent, will be declined.


• Eligible nonprofit organizations requesting a donation must operate on the local level (or as an affiliate/chapter of a larger organization operating locally) and their work must directly benefit the service area of the facility from which they are requesting funding.



• Due to the volume of requests, organizations may submit only one donation request and/or receive one donation from Harbor Freight Tools within our fiscal year (August 1 - July 31).



• Harbor Freight Tools reserves the right, without prior notice and in its sole and absolute discretion, to decline a donation request and/or update our guidelines and eligibility criteria at any time.

If you are a public school, you must enter your school's NCES School ID number. This can by found by going to https://nces.ed.gov/globallocator/ and searching by your school name.

Please attach a copy of your IRS Determination Letter or Tax Exempt status letter. The IRS determination letter notifies a nonprofit organization that its application for the federal tax exemption under Section 501(c)3 has been approved. Schools can request this information from their Administration Office. Please note, if you do not attach your IRS/Tax Exempt documentation, your donation request will not be approved.
