2023 UK&I Spotlight Awards Nominations

The CompTIA Spotlight Awards honor companies and individuals that exhibit thought leadership, innovation, outstanding service and making a positive industry impact. These awards are a great way to show peer-to-peer recognition and recognise thought leadership in the industry. As a not for profit trade association, CompTIA stands for excellence and standards in the industry and we want to recognise companies and individuals who reflect that.

Important Entry Information For All Awards

Entries close on 28 April, 2023.


Award finalists must be able to attend the ceremony at the CompTIA UK&I Community Meeting in Birmingham taking place 15 June.


All candidates must be CompTIA company members in good standing. One entry per category please. Multiple entries in the same category will not be considered and the selection committee will consider only one entry. Please keep the entry relevant to the UK&I market and include facts, figures and testimonials to strengthen your entry. Entries that focus on another market outside the UK&I will be marked down or disqualified. CompTIA UK&I Community reserves the right to move an entry to another category and to reject categories that are not adequately entered.

Which award are you submitting a nomination for?*

The Future Leader Spotlight Award is given to a young professional who is making their mark within a CompTIA company member organisation, who has shown success or originality as an entrepreneur, or has made an industry impact in some other demonstrable way.


Candidates should have a minimum five (5) years of industry experience and must be 40 years old or younger as of 15 June, 2023. Candidates must work for a current CompTIA company member in good standing.


The selection committee will weight their score according to these categories: 30% having a positive impact on the Tech industry, 40% contribute to CompTIA’s mission to advance the Tech industry and 30% demonstrated initiative and innovation in current and past roles.

Must be a CompTIA company member who is an active leader in the industry as well as their personal network and community. This individual serves as an advocate for women in technology, a role model for others and has made a positive impact on individuals as well as organizations.


Candidates must be a current CompTIA company member in good standing.


The selection committee will weight their score according to these categories; 30% on the demonstration of significant contributions to the industry and 40% will focus on the how they have made a positive impact on individuals and organisations they work with and 30% will focus on demonstrating how they advocate and are a role model for women in tech.

The Community Leadership Spotlight Award recognises an individual from a company member organisation who, in the prior twelve months, demonstrated outstanding service and impact through his/her commitment, passion, professionalism and leadership in assisting CompTIA as it advances the IT industry.


Candidates must be a current CompTIA company member in good standing.


The selection committee will weight their score according to these categories; 30% on engagement, outstanding impact, passion & professionalism and leadership within the CompTIA UK&I Community and 40% on the ways they have contributed to CompTIA’s mission to advance the Tech industry. 30% on the ways that you are a Premier CompTIA networker – working to join members and member companies.

The Cybersecurity Leadership award recognizes a single CompTIA Community member who has demonstrated outstanding commitment, leadership, passion and professionalism in providing thought leadership around cybersecurity resilience over the past 12 months. This leader demonstrates a level of engagement and cybersecurity expertise that is critical for the advancing cybersecurity resilience within the CompTIA Community.


Candidates must be a current CompTIA company member in good standing.


The selection committee will weight their score according to these categories: 30% having a positive impact on the cybersecurity space, 40% contribute to CompTIA’s mission to advance cybersecurity within the Tech industry and 30% demonstrated initiative and innovation in current and past roles around cybersecurity.

The Advancing Diversity in Technology Leadership award is earned by a member organisation that is actively advocating for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) in the industry and has a positive impact on the lives and careers of others. The organisation is a change maker, transforming lives and/or organisations through a sustained commitment to DEIB values.


Candidates must be a current CompTIA company member in good standing.


The selection committee will weight their score according to these categories; 30% on the demonstration of significant contributions to the industry, 40% will focus on the how they have made a positive impact on individuals and organisations they work with and 30% will focus on demonstrating how they advocate for others in leading with diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in tech.

Must be a CompTIA company member Solution Provider operating in the technology sector. Nominees must demonstrate leadership, excellence and innovation towards their organisation and clients. Has your company demonstrated excellence & innovation towards your organisation and clients? If so, you are a candidate for this award. We are looking for a company that can truly call themselves a solutions provider. Your business must consist primarily of solution services. This can be any or as many of the ‘as-a-service' disciplines as you like. We will only consider companies whose operations include solution services as a minimum of 40% of their overall business.


The selection committee will weight their score according to the categories; 50% of the overall score is weighted for the demonstration of innovation transformation, 25% will count for authentic case studies and 25% towards creative evidence included in the entry submission.

Must be a CompTIA company member Vendor operating in the technology sector. This award will go to the company that can best demonstrate an innovation or innovative approach that has transformed the organisation or the wider industry. Has your company’s innovation contributed to a significant impact on your organisation or the industry? Did your company offer a new service that has improved your clients' experience or a product that has had an impact on your customers' everyday life? This award recognises the vendor that successfully applied any form of innovation, celebrating the ideas that have had the greatest impact on an organisation, company or industry.


The selection committee will weight their score according to the categories; 50% of the overall score is weighted for the demonstration of innovation transformation, 25% will count for authentic case studies and 25% towards creative evidence included in the entry submission.

Must be a CompTIA company member Distributor operating in the technology sector. This Award will go to the company that can best demonstrate an innovation or innovative approach that has transformed the organisation or the wider industry. Has your company’s innovation contributed to a significant impact on your organisation or the industry? Did your company offer a new service that has improved your clients' experience or a product that has had an impact on your customers' everyday life? This award recognises the distributor that successfully applied any form of innovation, celebrating the ideas that have had the greatest impact on an organisation, company or industry.


The selection committee will weight their score according to the categories; 50% of the overall score is weighted for the demonstration of innovation transformation, 25% will count for authentic case studies and 25% towards creative evidence included in the entry submission.
