To help fund the repair or replacement cost of fixing a private sewer lateral line, a homeowner may choose to have the cost assessed to property taxes. The assessment can have a pay back period of 5 to 20 years depending on the amount and does accrue interest during this time.

The following are requirements to apply for this assessment:

• Residential property is in the City of Minneapolis
• Repair or replacement has not already occurred
• Have received three bids from vendors in the Target Market Program
• Have copies of all three bids and are prepared to attach them to this online application (can be scanned, photos taken or PDF file)
• Mortgage or Tax statement showing name and address to prove ownership. Will be attached along with three bids.
• Completed Sewer Service Line Repair Agreement. Form must be notarized. This will be attached along with bids and proof of ownership.

If an incomplete application is submitted, it will not be accepted. The homeowner will need to resubmit the application using this form once they have everything needed to apply. This includes all required attachments.
