SDSS Center for Computation
Application Form for Temporary Access to SDSS Computational Resources
This form is used to request temporary (up to one year) access to SDSS computational resources for the following people:
- Adjunct faculty in an SDSS department
- Visiting students, postdocs, and faculty to an SDSS department
- Previously qualified people who are no longer at Stanford (e.g., a recently graduated student or postdoc) who are continuing or wrapping up a collaboration with a qualified SDSS member
- Collaborators at Stanford who are not affiliated with SDSS but who are pursuing a joint research project with a qualified SDSS member. SDSS computational resources can only be used for the specific project.
- In special cases, access may be granted to external collaborators at other institutions who have no previous or current connection to SDSS but who are working with a qualified SDSS member. Resource usage by the external collaborator must be minimal, with access granted for the external collaborator to help with software installation and workflow development, rather than to run production simulations.
Requests for access require sponsorship by a qualifying SDSS member and will be evaluated by SDSS computational staff and/or leadership. Access requests will be granted for a fixed duration (not to exceed one year), and only if the proposed usage could be accommodated without negatively impacting other users. In addition, usage will be monitored and access may be revoked if other users are negatively impacted.
