Poster Project Entry- 2024
Posters are an effective, visual way to present your chapter’s Honors in Action or College Project, to get feedback on your project, and to disseminate great ideas other chapters can implement. The poster session will be a part of the Texas Regional Convention during which chapters will have the opportunity to compete for the title of best chapter poster.
The following awards will be given to the winning chapters:
- First Place: One scholarship to the 2024 Texas Honors Institute
- Awards of Merit: Up to two Awards of Merit will be awarded
A mixed panel will review each poster during the formal poster session and judge them on the basis of the originality of the project and its presentation, the quality of the poster's appearance, and the clarity with which the poster presents the project and its conclusions. One or two well-informed chapter members should be stationed at your poster during the formal poster session to answer questions about your project. Unattended posters will not be considered for awards.
Your poster should not be text heavy, rather you should strategically use short, succinct sentences, bulleted lists, and figures to include:
- For an Honors in Action project: the Honors Study Topic Issue studied along with research objectives, sources, and findings the need or the problem addressed by the project the planning for the project, including the goals established collaboration with others beyond the chapter, the scope of the project the outcomes and impact and their significance how others can participate and how the project has potential to grow or be sustained, if applicable
- For a College Project: an overview of the project who was involved in determining the project the planning for the project, including the goals established collaboration with others beyond the chapter, the scope of the project the outcomes and impact and their significance
Once printed, your poster should be assembled and mounted on a tri-fold poster board. If you are interested in presenting your chapter’s achievements during the Poster Project Competition, submit an abstract (fewer than 500 words) summarizing your Honors in Action or College Project by Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:59 PM CST.
