Priorities
LCMC has divided the roads it is responsible for into four priority groups, which are defined below. Snow plowing will begin on the streets with the highest traffic volume, which serve most residents. During continuous snowfall, trucks may be required to re-plow these roads with the highest traffic volume. When the snowfall accumulation subsides, operations will advance to the streets with lower average daily traffic.
Note: Certain Lake Cushman areas and roads will not be plowed due to access limitations, available space, and/or other considerations. These areas are listed in the Snow Removal Plan.
- Priority One – Emergency, LCMC, and Public Services Routes
The first routes plowed will be a minimal road network essential to emergency service vehicles.
- Priority Two – “Arterial” Routes
The following snow removal priorities will include roads with high traffic volumes and roads necessary to provide minimal connectivity throughout the Lake Cushman community.
- Priority Three – “Collector” Routes
The third priority, snow removal, expands the network of roadway connectivity, connecting more roads to the Priority Two “arterial” routes.
- Priority Four – “Local” Routes
The short dead-end roads and cul-de-sacs are the last priority for snow plowing.
Unpaved areas throughout the Lake Cushman community will not be plowed.
